Nicki Minaj will Receive the Game Changer Award at Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music

Nicki Minaj has been a Hip Hop trailblazer, and is being honored by Billboard for her impact. Minaj will be receiving the Game Changer award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music event.

Minaj’s Game Changer award comes after she became the first woman to earn 100 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2017, Minaj broke the previous record of most Billboard entries by a women held by Aretha Franklin with 73 entries.

“Billboard’s Women in Music is an annual opportunity for us to celebrate undeniably influential women from across the industry,” stated Billboard Editorial Director Hannah Karp. “This year, with honorees like Alanis Morisette, Brandi Carlile, Desiree Perez and Nicki Miniaj, we are excited to highlight a diverse group of women pushing limits and breaking
boundaries.”

Along with Minaj,  Alanis Morissette, Brandi Carlile, and Roc Nation’s chief operating officer Desiree Perez will also be honored.
