Gearing up for the holiday season, Mariah Carey enlists Gospel legend Kirk Franklin and rising artist Khalid for her new single “Fall in Love at Christmas.”
Carey and Khalid duet throughout the song while Franklin plays the piano. That is of course until the gospel singers come and fill the volume and feel of the song.
More sentimental and slow, the single is reminiscent of Carey’s first Christmas album, just more modern.
“And every Christmas, I’ll be there/ This time of year, we’re both aware, We gotta fall in love again at Christmastime/ And all the angels in the sky, Shine down on us as we roll by, We gotta fall in love again at Christmastime”
Outside of the new single, Carey will also be returning to Apple Music for a new Holiday special this year. The last special, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, had the new song “Oh Santa!” which featured Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.
