After delivering the heart breaking song, My Man,” Tamar Braxton gives us another song called “Pick Me Up,” from her upcoming album.
Braxton’s upcoming “Bluebird of Happiness” is said by Braxton herself, to be her best work and “final” album, but I and fans around doubt it, including her friend and song-writing partner in crime TC, who wrote and co-produced “Pick Me Up.”
“Pick Me Up” samples the 1982 hit “Love Come Down” by Evelyn “Champagne” King, and this song comes off at another version of “The One.” Tamar definitely knows how to sample a song and make her own hit.
“You’re my little pick me up whenever I’m feeling down,” she sings. “Can’t hardly wait until I’m with you again / It’s more than typical because you are my best friend / They be saying we be doing too much, I ain’t complaining / Love spending time with you and boy, that’ll never change.”
Braxton’s “Final” album, “Bluebird of Happiness” will arrive on Sept. 29. If you pre-order the album, you can get “Pick Me Up” for free now on iTunes.
