NewMusic: Megan Thee Stallion Sends Multiple Messages with ‘Hiss,’ Releases Video

Shortly after releasing her pouncing single, “Hiss,” Megan Thee Stallion released the accompanying video.

“Hiss” follows Megan Thee Stallion’s single “Cobra,” both released during her independent journey and starts with her sending a very clear message.

The song has thee rapper taking shots at multiple people.

  • Those artists who claimed they had a sexual relationship with her in the past
  • Those who have talked about her body
  • An apparent shot regarding a rapper and her husband.

Following the midnight release of “Hiss,” fellow rapper Nicki Minaj took to Instagram Live after one specific line was seemingly angled at the rapper.

“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / Bitch, you a pussy (You a pussy), never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me”

Megan’s Law was passed in 2016 under the Obama administration and is “to prevent child exploitation and other sexual crimes through advanced notification of traveling sex offenders.”

Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, is on the sexual offenders registry after he was convicted for the attempted rape of Jennifer Hough in 1994.

In the IG Live, Minaj teased a response that included mention of her foot being shot, saying that Megan Thee Stallion didn’t “catch the beat,” and made fun of her accent.

Later that night, Minaj did a second IG Live and said that Megan Thee Stallion lied to her deceased mother regarding her situation with Tory Lanez.

In the second live, Minaj said that she is a mother and “it’s different rules now.”
