Megan Thee Stallion Reveals Contract Details in Lawsuit, ‘1501’ Allegedly Gets 60% of Earnings, Gets Paid Directly from Tour & Live Performances

Megan ‘The Stallion’ Pete has been going through it musically and professionally with her label, and no one knew until she went live on Instagram. Pete revealed that she’s having contract disputes with one of her labels, and as a result, they didn’t want her to release music.

Pete revealed she’s signed to two labels, and signed to 1501 when she was 20. In the video below, Pete says she’s signed to two labels, 1501 and 300 Entertainment. 1501 is owned by former NBL player Carl Crawford. She said that until she signed with Roc Nation management, she didn’t fully understand what was in her contract.

“I was like 20, and I didn’t know everything that was in that contract,” Pete explained. “So when I got with Roc Nation, I got management — real management — and real lawyers. They were like, ‘Do you know that this is in your contract?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, damn, that’s crazy — no, I didn’t know.’ “

After speaking with her lawyers atRoc Nation, Pete talked to 1501 in order to renegotiate her contract, and that’s when things went left. During her live, Pete revealed that after wanting to renegotiate her contract, her 1501 label said she couldn’t release any music as a way to retaliate.

The day after the live, Pete made news with filing a lawsuit against her label. TMZ obtained the lawsuit, and revealed some of its content. “…She claims the deal calls for 1501 Certified to get 60% of her recording income. The remaining 40% goes to her, but she has to use that to pay engineers, mixers and featured artists who work on the songs.

On top of that, the contract reportedly reveals that 1501 is paid directly from Pete’s touring and live performances. “She says theis supposed to give her a proper accounting of what she’s owed — but claims what they’ve provided is incomplete, and “purposefully and deceptively vague.”
