Marsai Martin is Black Girl Magic & Black Excellence personified, so of course she would set a new record and standard in Hollywood.
Yesterday, the trailer behind the Martin’s upcoming film Little was revealed (watch below), and it set Martin a part as a 14-year-old mogul. Little, created by Martin herself, is produced by Will Packer and directed by Tina Gordon. Martin said she got the idea from watching the 1988 comedy Big, which is the opposite of Martin’s concept, different too.
While Regina Hall is the big boss at her company, she is mean spirited to everyone she comes across, and comes face to face with a child that appears to cast a spell on Hall to make her “little.” Hall, now turned into Martin must continuer business, but with the help of her assistant April (Issa Rae).
Martin spoke to The Root on her upcoming film. “It doesn’t matter if you are four or 84, there’s no limit to what you can do,” Marsai told The Root. “And if you prove that you can do it, you don’t have to wait… A 13-year-old created this film and it turned out to be a wonderful, loving and fulfilling film.”
