Mariah Carey’s reign as Queen of Christmas isn’t ending anytime soon. Her classic song, and 19th number one single, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” returns to the number one position on the Hot 100 Billboard chart this week.
Originally released in 1994, Carey’s Christmas classic didn’t become a number one single until Dec. 2019. She ended 2019 with the number one single, and started 2020 with the number one single.
After Billboard announced that Carey currently has the number one song on the Hot 100 chart this week, she responded on Twitter.
Billboard reported that the single gained “31.4 million U.S. streams (up 19%) and 7,000 downloads sold (up 8%) in the week ending Dec. 10. It also tallied 27.1 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 11%) in the week ending Dec. 13.”
Carey also released an updated video for the single last year. More festive and colorful than before. Carey’s Christmas special was just released on Apple TV, and she has released her new song “Oh Santa!” with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.
