On this trip the “The Breakfast Club,” the ladies of “The Real” stopped by and discussed multiple things. One of the biggest topics that still has people wondering ‘what happened?’ is Tamar Braxton’s departure from the show. Loni Love gave us her side, and a personal story to who she thinks may have been the cause, and what triggered it.
Speaking about celebrities confronting any of the ladies for what they may have said, Charlamagne took no time to make a transition to questioning about Braxton being fired from a show she was a part of since the beginning. “Did the show lose anything with Tamar, you think?” Charlamagne asked.
“I don’t think, for me… okay, that’s the big elephant in the room,” Love began. “I think every body has been waiting for us to talk about it. Season 1 and season 2, we were all different, okay. We didn’t really know each other that much, it was a new show, and as far as I know; I was sitting at a table with a girl named Tamar Braxton. I had just met these ladies, and I had just met her. I was excited. You got to understand something about me. I’ve been doing this for a long time, I had a production deal with a studio that actually said ‘let’s develop a show for women of color.’ So, I was already tied in, but I had no type of tie in in terms of casting… Tamar and the rest of these women were the best. We had a different type of show back then, then Season 2 happened, and it was getting better, there was something that had happened and I don’t know what happened.”
Love shares a story of being over Braxton’s house, way before Braxton was let go, where problems in their marriage may have began.
“I can tell you this, everybody has a different story when it comes to Tamar, but my story is this. She looks at me and goes, ‘hey, I want to get a new manager.’ And I was sitting in her kitchen and said ‘well, I don’t know about that.’ And she said ‘you know Rushion McDonald (Steve Harvey’s former manager)… give me his number.’ I said okay because she’s a very talented girl, and said ‘here is it number.’ Love then says that Braxton asked ‘what about him?’ Pointing to estranged husband Vincent Herbert. To which Love replied “that’s your husband, you have to talk to him.”
Love then went into greater detail about why she feels Braxton feels how she does, still wanting to have a conversation. Love reveals that during an emergency taping of “Braxton Family Values,” Herbert kept namedropping Love and all the girls of “The Real,” demeaning and name calling the girls. Herbert allegedly said that Love was jealous. To which Love states the reason he may have called Love out personally was because she gave Braxton the number to a new/different manager.
