Lil’ Kim Announces Memoir: “Lil’ Kim The Queen Bee Life Story”

Fans have been waiting for Lil’ Kim to tell her story for years, and now she plans to in her forthcoming memoir: “Lil’ Kim The Queen Bee Life Story.” Kim’s debut memoir is expected to explore what went on behind the scenes, including her rise to fame, years with Biggie and Junior Mafia, and more.

“I’m excited to finally get to tell my story after all this time,” Lil’ Kim told People. “Many people have thought they knew the story of Lil’ Kim, but they have no idea.” In addition to expanding on her work as an artist, The Queen Bee will touch on Kim’s relationships, her struggles within the misogynistic music industry, and more.

“Lil’ Kim not only blazed trails for women in Hip-Hop, but also inspired the careers of those who followed,” reads a part of the book’s description. “However, life at the top hasn’t been easy, either. Lil’ Kim also talks about the hidden moments of her reign: her complicated high-profile relationships, the misogynistic industry she fought to change through sex positivity, the challenging double standards of self-image and beauty in the spotlight, and the momentous act of loyalty that ultimately landed her in prison.”

With the help of Kathy Iandoli, Kim’s memoir will be out Nov. 2, a few days before the 25th anniversary of her debut album Hard Core.
