These upcoming weeks, Lifetime’s Voices of a Lifetime is back, celebrating the legacies of three music trailblazers: Mary J. Blige, Lisa Lisa, and Gloria Gaynor. The event features three original movies honoring their remarkable careers and contributions to music history.

Kicking Off with Mary J. Blige:

The series begins Saturday, January 25, at 8/7c with an original movie executive produced by Mary J. Blige, alongside Jordan and John Davis. Inspired by Blige’s hit Family Affair, the film continues the love story of Kendra and Ben, first introduced in Mary J. Blige’s Real Love and Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman. Ajiona Alexus and Da’Vinchi reprise their roles and also serve as executive producers.

Lisa Lisa’s Journey:

On Saturday, February 1, at 8/7c, Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story premieres. This authorized biopic chronicles the rise of Lisa Velez, better known as Lisa Lisa, a trailblazer in Latin hip hop and a star of the 80s group Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. Velez executive produces and plays her mother, with Jearnest Corchado starring as young Lisa, Bre-Z as Toni Ménage, and Angie Martinez as Nurse Rodriguez.

Gloria Gaynor’s Legacy:

The series concludes Saturday, February 8, at 8/7c with Robin Roberts Presents I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story. Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango stars as the two-time Grammy winner and disco legend, with Lance Gross as Gaynor’s husband, Linwood Simon. Gaynor executive produces, contributes an original song, and collaborates with Rock’n Robin Productions, led by executive producer Robin Roberts.

Following the biopic, viewers can watch the Tribeca Spotlight documentary Gloria Gaynor: I Will Survive. Directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Betsy Schechter, it offers an intimate look at Gaynor’s perseverance as she pursues her dream of creating a gospel album against all odds.
