Liam Neeson is under scrutiny after a recent interview where he revealed he was looking to kill any black man in retaliation to his friend being raped.
While during an interview with The Independent, Neeson revealed that many years ago, he wanted to kill a black man after his friend told her she was raped.
“There’s something primal—God forbid you’ve ever had a member of your family hurt under criminal conditions,” Neeson stated. “She handled the situation of the rape in the most extraordinary way,” he said. “But my immediate reaction was… I asked, did she know who it was? No. What colour were they? She said it was a black person.”
Neeson revealed he was hoping for a “black bastard” to antagonized him.
“I went up and down areas with a (crowbar), hoping I’d be approached by somebody—I’m ashamed to say that—and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some ‘black bastard’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could—kill him.”
Although Neeson admitted he regretted that moment, he said it taught him to address emotional moments by asking, “What the f**k are you doing?”
Neeson’s confession is an all too realistic truth when it comes to some white people. Wanting Black people to provoke him, during that time, tells a side that isn’t often revealed.
