Jordan Edwards, the unarmed 15-year-old boy was fatally shot by a Texas police officer; his story is so recent, and has been on many people’s heart since it happened, and Kobe Bryant wanted to help his brother in some way.
Bryant gifted Jordan’s older brother, Kevon Edwards, who turned 17 one day after his younger brother was laid to rest, with autographed jerseys and a couple pairs of his signature sneakers (posted below).
15-year-old Jordan Edwards was shot in the back of the head while riding in the front passenger’s seat of a vehicle driving away from a party, all while being unarmed during the encounter. Roy Oliver has since allegedly been fired from the department and charged with murder. The Department of Justice has officially opened an investigation into the fatal shooting incident, according to the Huffington Post.
Kevon, Jordan, and their stepbrother, Vidal Allen, were in the same vehicle when Balch Springs police followed them, as they left the party on April 29.
