Kelly Rowland Reveals She Is Independent: “Every Time I Had A Label, It Was Always Something” (Video)

After releasing her latest single “Kelly,” Kelly Rowland has opened up about the process, revealing that for the first time, she isn’t signed.

Earlier this year, Rowland revealed that previous record label Sony had told her she had no worth. So it’s great to see Rowland is high spirits musically, and remind people just who the Grammy award artist is.

After her “braggadocios” record dropped that many fans are feeling it, Rowland has been increasing her presence and interaction on social media. During a recent Instagram Live session, Rowland began answering questions, and many were directed towards new music, which prompted Rowland to reveal she wasn’t signed to a label.

“I think that what I’m most happy about is the fact that I’m not signed,” Rowland spoke. “I don’t have a label that is putting all the money behind everything, it’s all me. I do have a great team. I have a team that is; but the thing is, you have to know what you want too. And not for the first time, but I gave myself permission to say ‘it’s okay that I don’t have a label.’ I’ve had a label like my whole life, and every time I did had a label, it was just; it was always something. I did this on my own and I am very proud. If nobody liked it, that was okay. But the fact that everybody liked it and you’re showing so much support, I am so grateful…”
