Kelis is Co-Hosting a New Cannabis-Infused Cooking Show on Netflix

Kelis has been very vocal about shifting from music, focusing on other ventures. She has moved out the city, and has been living on a farm, growing her own food for awhile. Now, she’s coming back to our screens with a cooking challenge show on Netflix.

Food isn’t a new concept for the entertainer. She has gone to culinary school, and has her own cookbook. The Cooked With Cannabis show will have six episodes, and features one of the “highest”-concept food challenges yet. Kelis’ co-star is Portland-based chef, Leather Storrs.

According to Food and Wine, the show will have six episodes. “During each episode, three pro chefs work against the clock to create a three-course meal based around themes that range from world cuisine to futurist food.” Kelis shared a message on her Instagram, announcing the premiere date, and sharing thanks.

“I’m really excited to announce my new show, Cooked with Cannabis on @Netflix!! Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love my Netflix, so this is a dream come true. Interestingly, this was one of those things that I didn’t go looking for, it kind of came to me. As a chef, I was intrigued by the food and as an everyday person, I was interested in how powerful this topic is in today’s society. In this country, many things have been used systematically to oppress groups of people, but this is so culturally important for us to learn and grow together. I hope you all will tune in, it’s definitely going to be a good time!”
