That’s when the the men began to attack, poured an unknown chemical substance on him, according to police. Police arrived on the scene to find a batter Smollett with a noose tied around his neck. Smollett previously received a letter stating “you will die black f**.”
Well now Smollett has broken his silence, and spoke with Essence.
“Let me start by saying that I’m OK,” Smollett began. “My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words. ”
Smollett also said he needs time to process, and will be speaking publicly about it soon. Check out the full statement here.
