For years, fans of Wizards of Waverly Place have been calling for a remake, reboot or another variation of the hit show, and just like with magic, wishes come true. As the young sorceress “Billie,” Janice LeAnn Brown casts spellbinding charm as the new series lead in Wizards Beyond Waverly.
“Billie,” alongside her on-screen best friend “Winter” (played by Taylor Cora) will bring Black Girl Magic to the “Wizards” franchise. Janice is reimagining Disney Channel’s iconic “Wizards” world franchise with a fresh and captivating perspective.
“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” follows an adult Justin Russo (David Henrie), who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo.
When Justin’s sister Alex (Selena Gomez) brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.
“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” a continuation of the Emmy® Award-winning “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premieres with two episodes on Oct. 29, at 8:00 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
The first nine episodes will be available on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand the following day, Oct. 30.
