Jada Pinkett Smith Confirms August Alsina Relationship, She & Will Both State They Were Separated: “Grateful for the Journey” (Video)

Jada Pinkett Smith is tackling the recent headlines. She and Will Smith both address what August Alsina recently said about their relationship. Starting off, Jada states that a statement released on her behalf did not come from her, or Will.

During the Red Table Talk, Will and Jada have an open and honest conversation, even sharing a few laughs. They reveal that they were separated, and confirm that Alsina is not a “home wrecker,” despite that past portrayal in media. They let us in, and reveal some details about their marriage, and how the relationship began.

“I was done with your ass,” states Will both both laugh. “Marriages have that through. We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time. You go figure out how to make yourself happy, and I go figure out how to make myself happy.”

Jada and Will both state that the beginning of their friendship was built on wanting to help Alsina, to which Jada says is a part of her co-dependency issue.

“From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August,” said Jada. Regarding the part of Alsina’s story that Will gave him permission, Jada clarifies that as well. “The only person who could give permission in that particular circumstance is myself.”

Jada also says she hasn’t spoken to Alsina since he broke all communication with her. Jada still states that healing has to take place, but that she’s “grateful for the journey” she and Will have had together.
