“Middle Child” continues to add accolades to J. Cole‘s catalog. It’s the first Cole single to make it into the top 5 of Billboard’s Hot 100, and is now the first multi-platinum single released in 2019.
Released on January 23rd, 2019, “Middle Child” climbed and peaked at the number 4 position on the Billboard Hot 100 before the release of its video. The position makes it Cole’s highest charting single to date.
Now, just a little over 2 months since its initial release, Cole’s “Middle Child” is now double platinum. When releasing “Middle Child,” Cole stated “This how I’m coming all year. This how @dreamville coming all 2019.” If this is an indication about hat Cole was speaking on, then 2019 will be a good year for him and his label.
