“Girls Trip” Has Officially Grossed Over $100 Million

Less than a month in theaters, the movie “Girls Trip,” has hit a milestone with grossing over $100 Million worldwide. Four black women, all in lead roles, having fun together… Let that sink in!

The film, focused around Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish proves that diversity and inclusion matter, and this movie proves that, among many others. Along with a black cast, the movie had black direct Malcolm D. Lee, and producer Will Packer. Not only did the movie gross over $100 Million, but it is the first comedy of 2017 to do so. Does anyone remember the white-washed version Hollywood tried to compete with “girls Trip” with? Not many do, and it’s okay.

Domestically, the movie has made (as of now) $99, 497,940, while grossing over 7 million internationally, making half a million and being the number 1 movie in South Africa for two weeks alone. The next markets to release will be Australia and Romania on Aug. 31, with additional markets rolling out through November.
