Two comedy and entertainment veterans will be honored at the inaugural Humor Mill Comedy Awards; comedian George Wallace and television writer and producer Ralph Farquhar, and will be hosted by fellow comedian Chris Spencer.
Farquhar will receive the Icon Award and is behind hit shows like “Moesha,” “The Parkers,” “Married…with Children,” “The Proud Family,” and the Emmy-Award winning reboot, “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.”
Wallace, with four decades of selling out comedy clubs and concert venues all over the globe, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
“The Humor Mill Comedy Awards holds special significance as a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the African-American community during Black History Month,” Founder Frank Holder said. “With unique perspectives and experiences, urban comedians bring the power of healing, unity, upliftment, and resilience to the art form of comedy generation after generation.”
Wallace began his career in comedy as a writer for “The Redd Foxx Show’.” He turned his comedy run into becoming one of the prominent comedians in the game, as well as garnering roles in various successful films.
The Humor Mill Comedy Awards will have a hand-picked cohort of comedy royalty, nominated by the comedy elite and chosen from the finest crop of comedic stars and social influencers.
