With the murder of George Floyd, people are demanding answers and justice. Minneapolis has been protesting since the death happened by former officer Derek Chauvin. As of a few minutes ago, Chauvin has been arrested and taken into custody.
It’s important to note he has yet to be charged with anything, and that an investigation is still taking place. However, he has been taken into custody. This is a change because initially, prosecutors didn’t want to take him into custody due to not wanting to “rush the investigation.”
There’s not much information surrounding Chauvin being taken into custody, or the status of the other officers involved. Last night, protestors set the Minneapolis 3rd precinct ablaze (watch here). We’ll provide more information as its given.
