Drake Files Fraud Lawsuit Against Woman Claiming Rape & False Pregnancy

Drake states he is innocent in all allegations against him in regard to Instagram model Layla Lace.

Lace accused Drake of raping her, getting her pregnant, and abandoned her. According to TMZ, Drake and his lawyer are going after Lace for her allegations of sexual assault, claiming that the fake allegations were made in order to extort the rapper. Lawyer Larry Stein filed court documents accusing Lace of civil extortion, emotional distress, fraud, defamation, and abuse of process, with unspecified damages being sought.

According to the lawsuit, Drake admits having sex with Lace after meeting her in Manchester, England, in February 2017 while on tour. He claims that the sex was consensual and says Lace concocted a fictional relationship, and has provided alleged text messages to try and prove his claims. The TMZ obtained texts appear show Lace checking in with Drake, which eventually shows Drake trying to ghost Lace. After a day of silence, she allegedly sent a text accusing him of “ignoring” her.

In April 2017, Lace shared a post accusing Drake of abandoning her after she became pregnant with his child, a child which was conceived through the alleged raping. Drake’s lawyer team states “there is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which would have been born [to Lace] last fall.”

Lace also appeared in an interview with Shade45 to talk about her situation with host Jazzie Belle.

The lawsuit also states that Lace refused to undergo a paternity test and that she demanded money for the baby she claimed to be having. When Drake denied those requests, she allegedly hired a lawyer to pursue accusations that he raped her during their encounter in February 2017. Drake’s legal counsel maintains that police in Manchester cleared him after looking into the matter but that Lace

RollingStone.com adds that after Manchester police cleared Drake of any allegations of sexual assault – the lawsuit states Drake flew to the U.K. to meet with investigators – Morris continued to demand money from the rapper, aired their private messages on social media and threatened “to go public with salacious (and ever changing) false allegations of conduct that simply did not happen.”

“It would have been easy for Drake to pay for silence,” the lawsuit added. “However, Drake does not want to take the easy way out. Layla and her attorneys underestimated Drake’s steadfast resolve not to pay hush money to avoid negative publicity arising from fabricated claims. He looks forward to holding Layla and those working in concert with her responsible for egregious misconduct.”
