Spice, with her new lighter complexion, made people call her hypocrite. On the current season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, we see it playing out after the fact. We now know that Spice did it to promote her single “Black Hypocrisy” and the message of the song.

(‘Cause) I was told I would reach further, If the colour of mi skin was lighter/ And I was made to feel inferior, Cah society seh brown girls prettier/ Mi love the way mi look, Mi love mi pretty black skin/ Respect due to mi strong melanin/ Proud of mi colour, love the skin that I’m in”

On the first episode of LHHATL, we see Spice visit a doctors office to find out about the proper procedure in skin bleaching, that session didn’t go over well.

While still being her beautiful brown self, Spice took to Instagram to defend herself. “If you think I don’t love myself or love the skin that i’m in because of my #BlackHypocrisyMovement , then you should have went to school when your momma sent you,” she began. “And stop talking when you only using 10% of your brain ? #Fuckouttahere with your obtuseness.??
‘Proud a mi color, love mi pretty black skin, respect due to mi strong melanin”. A “BITCH” TOLD ME YESTERDAY THAT I WAS UGLY ? SO LET ME ASK WHERE ? SHOW ME WHERE ? All black beauty right here baby. Society got you brain washed.”
