Columbus Short Opens Up About His Past Drug Addiction, Not Seeing His Daughter In 3 Years & More

Columbus Short visited the Wendy Williams Show today to not only promote his new movie, but get some things off his chest essentially.

While on the show, Short reveled that his drug of choice was Cocaine, and that the “Scandal” workers knew of his addiction. He stated that Kerry Washington would tell him many times to “get it together,” and try to help. He even revealed that the “Scandal” workers/cast tried to send him to rehab. It was known that Short had problems, and he tried to hide them, but it got out of control with his divorce.

When speaking of his failed marriage, Short described it as a “toxic relationship,” addressed rumors of him physically abusing his ex-wife Brandi Short.

“Was I abusing drugs and alcohol? Yes,” he said. “Have I ever abused a woman? Never. Maybe with my words, possibly, but I’ve never put my hands on a woman.”

Short continues to talk about the relationship, stating his wife took all his money, and that she was very calculated in doing so, and keeping his daughter away from him.

“I haven’t seen her,” he said in reference to his daughter. “… in three years… I’m campaigning to get my life back and everything’s lining up the way it’s supposed to be.”
