2017 is truly the year of Cardi B, her reign is coming, and she’s demanding the spotlight with her music. “Bodak” is the highest charting song from a female rapper since Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” took the number 2 spot in 2014.
Just two weeks ago, Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow” was number 28 on Billboards Hot 100 chart, and now its number 8. “Bodak Yellow”is definitely doing what it’s supposed to do, helping Cardi build her career as a rapper and two successful mixtapes. Cardi B’s flow on the song and its title was inspired by Florida-based rapper Kodak Black and his 2015 song “No Flockin,” which she credits all the time (just look at the name).
“Bodak Yellow” now sits at #8 on the Hot 100, and debuted at number 78, currently boasting 71,574 in total sales with 21,739 of those from this week alone.Shout out and congrats to Cardi B, a queen who deserves this, and every other future moment of success.
