Cardi B recently sat down with CBS Sunday Morning correspondence Maurice DuBois to discuss a little bit of her life and rise to fame thus far.

Cardi spoke on being a former stripper, and how she felt beautiful and powerful. “I did gain, like, a passion and love [for] performing. It made me feel pretty… I’m glad for this chapter in my life.”

The topic of her former feud with rapper Nicki Minaj also came into play. “A lot of people like to say all publicity is good publicity” Cardi said. “To me it’s not. That takes away [from] people paying attention to your craft. They just wanna see drama.” While calling the beef unnecessary, she also admits she is not embarrassed of what happened. 

Another special moment shared in the video was Cardi going back to her old high school, visiting a class full of young students who greeted her like a superstar, while still being surprised.
