According to The Chicago Tribune, R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse earlier today.
Kelly has been under scrutiny following the docu-series, Surviving R, Kelly, and that is what seemed to set everything off.
Attorney Michael Avenatti stated he represented a client who he believes is a whistle blower in all of Kelly’s alleged deeds. Last week, CNN revealed that their is a newly resurfaced tape showing Kelly with an underaged girl from a few years ago.
According to the court records obtained by The Chicago tribune, it’s unclear on the number of alleged victims, “but three of the indictments referred to a minor between the ages of 13 and 16, according to the charges.”
According to NBC Chicago, Kelly’s first court date is scheduled for March 8. We’ll continue to update this story.
