Breaking News: Kanye West Hospitalized

A source familiar with the situation told NBC News that Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call about 1:20 p.m. PT. No criminal activity was involved and that the decision to hospitalize West was for his own health and safety. According to TMZ, the rapper was taken to UCLA Medical Center. It’s unclear if he’s still at the hospital.

“Kanye tell us he was getting checked out by one of his doctors for severe sleep deprivation when someone — possibly the physician — decided he needed to be admitted. Law enforcement sources tell us Kanye did not want to go, and was restrained when he was transported.”

This may be why he cancelled his remaining tour dates…
