What do you picture when you hear the words “FunkyVibe”? … Take a second, think. If you couldn’t come up with an answer, it’s because it’s more of a feeling created by Retro Pop artist Blaque Rose.
“FunkyVibe” is adding to Rose’s rising success in the NYC, Tri-State area. His insatiable drive, and multifaceted skill set pair perfectly with his love of nostalgic synth. His ability to make retro vibes sound fresh and modern has attracted a dedicated fan base from all over the world.
From the song, to the video, it’s clear Rose was influenced by artists like Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, David Bowie, Prince, & Led Zeppelin. “FunkyVibe” in particular is paired with a visual reminiscent of a 1980’s vaporwave aesthetic. It incorporates surreal imagery and futuristic scenes.
When you watch the video, it matches the song title, and the feeling it gives you. Almost in a transcending type of way. It captures the audience, and provides a well needed creative break.
The visual was shot by Denz with the Lenz, and animated by well-known motion designer Anthony Esquive. They created the perfect video.
