While Maroon 5 has been scheduled to perform at the Super Bowl since last year, they’ve been having trouble securing a co-performer. Well now, they have 2.
Hip-Hop legend Big Boi will help the group perform in Atlanta during the big event, alongside Travis Scott.
Billboard reported that Scott only agreed to perform at the Super Bowl after the NFL agreed to make a joint $500,000 charitable contribution to Van Jones’ Dream Corps organization, a “social justice accelerator.”
“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in,” Scott said in a statement to Billboard. “I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”
While Big Boi hasn’t said much on performing, people have still called out the legend and Scott. Some are upset about both performing, while others are looking at it as Atlanta putting on for Atlanta.
