The 2024 Creator Conversations program is a groundbreaking event that will provide audiences with a rare and intimate look into the minds of three influential and celebrated artists in the entertainment industry today.
DuVernay, Barris and Rae are trailblazers who have each made an indelible mark on the landscape of film and television. Their work is not only critically acclaimed, but also serves as a reflection of our culture while tackling important social issues with nuance, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to storytelling.
The live “Creator Conversations” event will take place on June 14th at the New World Center and will allow attendees to engage directly with these iconic creatives, gaining insights into their creative processes, the inspirations behind their recent projects, and the unique challenges they have faced in their illustrious careers.
“We are truly delighted to get a rare glimpse into the minds of three trailblazers who are reshaping the landscape of film and television. Ava DuVernay, Kenya Barris and Issa Rae are incredibly talented creators whose work and careers we admire tremendously,” NICE CROWD President Nicole Friday said. “ This on-stage conversation will provide the audiences with in-person access to these iconic creatives, allowing them to engage and hear directly from these celebrated artists.”
From DuVernay’s “ORIGIN,” a film that explores the mystery of history, the wonders of romance, and a fight for our future, all while delving into the dark influence of the global phenomenon of caste on Hulu, to Barris’ groundbreaking black-ish franchise and his feature directorial debut, You People, these artists have consistently pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the entertainment industry.
The 2024 ABFF Creator Conversations with Rae featuring DuVernay and Barris promises to be a remarkable and unforgettable event that will inspire and empower audiences to continue to champion the diverse and innovative voices that are shaping the future of film and television.
The festival will occur in Miami Beach from June 12-16, followed by an online segment between June 17-24 on ABFF PLAY.
