Ariana Grande Drops Out Of SNL Premiere Tonight For “Emotional Reasons,” Kanye West Replaces Her

Ariana Grande was originally the musical guest for Saturday Night Live’s season 44 premiere tonight, Saturday 29th, 2018. However, given recent events, Grande has decided to pull out from the event for “emotional reasons.”

SNL’s executive producer Lorne Michaels revealed Grande dropped out from performing earlier this week during the “Origins With James Andrew Miller” podcast. “We had Ariana drop out for emotional reasons two days ago,” Michaels said during the interview, which was previously recorded. “And then Kanye stepped up, so he’ll be there,” Michaels added.

Grande has fans worried about her own mental status after just posting a series of tweets revolving around her not being okay, and needing a break. All understandable since her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, recently passed away, and the fact that its been a year and 4 months since her concert in Manchester, England, suffered a terrorist attack which Grande allegedly suffers PTSD from; she deserves time to herself.

In a statement, her team said: “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. “She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Season 44 of SNL comes on tonight, 11:30/10:30c on .
