A$AP Rocky Named Creative Director Of MTV Labs

A$AP Rocky can add one more thing to his resume which shows his creative side. Rocky and MTV made an announcement on September 30th, 2016, that the rapper has been named the creative director for MTV Labs, which they describe as a “creative incubator.”
Rocky and his company AWGE will work with Viacom to create in-house content and custom branded content for advertisers who work with Viacom Velocity, which is Viacom’s in-house creative agency. MTV also stated Rocky will have direct input into first-look deal to develop new television and digital series for MTV, work with MTV to create branded-content for advertisers, and reinvent pre-existing MTV series.
Rocky, being named one of Forbes Highest Paid Hip-Hop Acts list for the first time last year, has made a name and brand for himself. This will prove to be another creative venture for Rocky to demolish and pass with flying colors, and of course jump start MTV back to the forefront for artist.
“MTV is a name we grew up with – everyone knows them as innovators and champions of building artist’s careers. I’m honored to have this opportunity and can’t wait to show people what we have been working on.”
