Da Brat, as a Chicago native, and friend of R. Kelly, speaks out on the allegations placed on him.
Both Brat and Kelly went to the same high school, and had the same music teacher, but Brat said she never saw anything out of the ordinary while together. While at the Trumpet Awards in Atlanta this past weekend, TMZ caught up with the rapper to get her insight on the topic following the Surviving R. Kelly docu-series.
“I’ve never seen him do anything bad, but I don’t believe these people are lying,” Brat said. “But at the same time, where is the parents? I think he needs help, for sure. I love him. I hope he don’t get mad at me. And I think the parents need to take responsibility. Where is your 14-year-old child? Why are you there? There’s something wrong with that.”
In response to the Mute R. Kelly movement, Brat eve a response to that as well. “I can’t stop listening to the music,” she said. Watch the video below.
