A gripping new trailer has arrived for The Dutchman, the modern adaptation of the 1964 Obie Award–winning play.

The film stars André Holland as Clay, a successful but troubled Black businessman fighting to save his marriage through therapy — until their mysterious therapist begins appearing outside their sessions.

Clay’s life spirals further when he encounters Lula, a seductive yet sinister stranger on a New York subway who slowly unravels his reality. As the night unfolds, he must uncover the truth, confront his fractured identity, and make it back to his wife.

After premiering at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival, The Dutchman is set for U.S. release on January 2, 2026 through Rogue Pictures and Inaugural Entertainment.

The new trailer teases a tense, atmospheric reimagining that brings fresh urgency to themes of race and identity in America.

Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Aldis Hodge and Lauren E. Banks also star in the film.
