Toni Braxton continues to show she’s not just a voice for the ages, but also a gifted storyteller.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, actress and entrepreneur is bringing her music to the screen with two new Lifetime movies inspired by her hit songs, part of her production deal with Lifetime and A+E Global Media.

Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough:

The first film, Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough, casts Braxton as bestselling author Mel Montgomery, whose world is shaken when she learns her boyfriend Richard (Thomas Cadrot, The Night Agent) has been deceiving her.

Things take an even sharper turn when Mel discovers Richard is now engaged to her estranged college friend Monica, played by Essence Atkins. With the help of her loyal best friend Candy (Yvette Nicole Brown), Mel and Monica put the past aside and find strength in standing together.

The film premieres Saturday, Nov. 22, at 8/7c as part of Lifetime’s Love of a Lifetime November romance slate.

Breathe Again:

Braxton’s second project, Breathe Again, debuts in 2026 and reunites her with Atkins, while adding Emmy winner Cree Summer to the cast.

This film follows three women, Jennifer (Braxton), Vanessa (Summer) and Evelyn (Atkins), who meet as contestants on a reality dating show. After heartbreak under the spotlight, they form an unexpected sisterhood that takes them from Los Angeles to a fresh start in Seattle. There, they navigate love, loss, laughter and all the messiness of life.

Jennifer rediscovers her artistry, Vanessa rebuilds her design business while learning to love again, and Evelyn begins to heal her grief by embracing joy and new possibilities. At its heart, Breathe Again reminds viewers that while romance can come and go, female friendship is the love story that lasts.

Both films are executive produced by Braxton, alongside Tanya Lopez and Kenneth Crear for Lifetime. Stan Brooks serves as director and producer, with scripts by Aireka Muse, Tara Knight and Angela Nissel (He Wasn’t Man Enough), and Nikita Hamilton (Breathe Again).
