For the first time since news broke of his hospitalization, Jamie Foxx has spoken publicly about his health and thanked his family, friends and fans for their support and prayers.
“I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” Foxx said in an Instagram video. “I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through.”
Foxx mentioned how his family kept things tight-lipped and outside of health reasons, he said he didn’t want people to see him “like that.”
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show,” Foxx said. “I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
He said he’s still working on his health, but that the road to recovery “had some potholes.”
In true Foxx fashion, he showed he’s not paralyzed and that he’s not blind by comedically crossing and uncrossing his eye while also attempting to prove he’s not a clone.
“I just want to say that I love everybody, and I love all the love that I got,” Foxx continued.
“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in, in such a way,” Foxx said. “They kept it airtight, didn’t let nothing out, they protected me and that’s what I hoped that everyone could have in moments like these.”
Foxx concluded the video by saying he is on his way back.
