Wendy Williams’ biopic is on the way. She’s been talking about the movie since before the pandemic, but production slowed down. The film has now been completed, and the first official trailer is here.
Williams executive produced her biopic, documenting her personal and professional highs and lows. The trailer is a minute, but we see drugs, the fact her now ex-husband had a recent baby on her, and the infamous fall.
Wendy Williams: The Movie stars Ciera Payton (The Oval, She’s Gotta Have It) and Morocco Omari (P-Valley, Empire). The script was written by Leigh Davenport (Run the World, Boomerang) and Scarlett Lacey (Magnum P.I., The Royals). The film was directed by Darren Grant (The Chi, God Friended Me).
Williams interviewed Grant on her show Thursday, revealing that she hasn’t seen the movie yet herself. Wendy Williams: The Movie premieres Saturday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
