Wendy Williams Reveals She’s Been Living In A Sober House For The Past Few Months: “That Is My Truth”

Wendy Williams has never been one to be shy talking about her opinions, her past, and what she feels, and today is no exception.

On her Wendy Williams Show today, Williams tearfully revealed that she has been living in a sober house these past few months. She started off by introducing her Hunter Foundation, and explaining a little of her past.

“For some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house,” she told her audience. “You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped.”

Williams just returned to her talk show after a few months long hiatus, which she earlier stated was health related with her graves disease and and fractured shoulder. Williams did not state that cocaine was the reason for the sober house stay, however, that was her past drug of choice.

Williams states that “nobody knew” about her situation except husband Kevin Hunter, not even her parents. She also let viewers in on her routine.

“After I go to Pilates, I go to several meetings all around town… and I see my brothers and sisters caught up in their addiction and looking for help,” she said. “They don’t know I’m Wendy, they don’t care I’m Wendy.” Williams also revealed that after she’s completed her meetings, then she’s “driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to a home that I live in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family.”

On a typical night, she says, “We talk and read and talk and read and then I get bored with them. Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m., so I go to my room and stare at the ceiling and fall asleep.”

Williams ender her story by stating, “this is my truth,” and speaking on her foundation before tearfully jogged off camera.
