Teyana Taylor Says She Didn’t Know “There Would Be No Singles, No Visuals” on K.T.S.E.

Teyana Taylor appeared on Hot 97’s “Ebro In The Morning” on Thursday, July 12th, 2018, to discuss her new album “K.T.S.E.” The conversation turned to the album’s rollout and Taylor’s feelings towards her own album very quickly.

The question that started the conversation about the rollout was “What contributed to the sequence not being right? Hitting the deadline? Lack of communication?” Taylor has publicly expressed her disappointment in her album, stating that the albums was incomplete, it had missing verses.

“Majority of the songs were done when We put that date out,” she states. “A lot of miscommunication as far as clearance and certain versions. When the album dropped, I just, I never heard that version when the album dropped…”

Taylor further continues the conversation about the rollout, stating that she did not know what was really going on until a final meeting.

“At first I didn’t know it was going to be a five-album thing until we had our last meeting and we were talking about the album and then [Kanye] said he was working on his and Pusha,” Taylor stated. “I know me and Pusha was supposed to come out around the same time. Once he said his and everybody else, I was a little nervous at first. I ain’t tryna be up in the middle of that. The Nas gon’ be crazy, blah blah blah. I was kinda just going with the flow. At the same time, I just wanted music out. I didn’t care how that shit had to happen. Whether it was a separate rollout, whether it was five albums. I didn’t know ahead of time that there would be no singles, no visuals. I didn’t know none of that. But I knew it was going to be the five-album thing, [Kanye] wanted [my album] to be last, you know, the biggest. That’s the way they sauced it up.”
