Ella Mai’s second single, “Trip,” took on a life of its own with the help of Jacquees.
While Mai was trying to launch her second single, Jacquees decided to cover the song, and it became a viral sensation on its own. While both versions grew, Mai’s label got the song taken down due to Jacquees allegedly trying to make money off the song.
Some time passed, and Jacquees continued to perform the song while Mai stayed quiet, while insisting that there was no beef. However, Mai tweeted out a shady post today. “I’d be so embarrassed if someone brung me on stage and the only thing i could sing was someone else’s song because nobody knew my actual music. poor thing.”
While never actually mentioning Jacquees, he responded simply with the shrug and crown emoji. The video in question is of Tory Lanez bring out Jacquees on stage while touring with Drake (seen below).
