In anticipation for her upcoming album, “Kimberly: The People I Used To Know,” K. Michelle has been releasing songs almost every week. This week is no different. K just released her new song “Make This Song Cry.”
“You know how I am/ Don’t you forget what, I did for you/I left all my hoes, Told them not to call, and text me no more/ Now you’re so, Ungrateful/ Do you know how hard it was, for me to stay faithful/ Ima make this song cry/ Never let a nigga see me cry”
Sampling “Song Cry” by Jay-Z, who originally sampled Bobby Glenn’s “Sounds Like A Love Song;” Michelle made the song her own, and without former musical knowledge, one would assume it was completely hers. Michelle has mastered the art form of songwriting, and it shows on her tracks when a person actually listens to not only the lyrics, but how they ride the beat.
