#NewMusic: Brave Williams Covers the Eartha Kitt Classic ‘Santa Baby’

Eartha Kitt is iconic for many reasons, and one thing of hers that will continue to live on is her classic Christmas song, “Santa Baby.” Singer-songwriter and actress Brave Williams is the latest talent to cover the iconic song, and she holds her own in the process.

Not only did Williams cover the classic, she also provided a video for the song. Wearing a Santa hat, black dress, alone on the mic with Christmas tree; giving a full Christmas aesthetic.

“I wanted to pay homage to Eartha Kitt,” Williams said. “Her voice has always captured me. The first time I heard her sing Santa Baby I was mesmerized by simplicity of how she delivered each line, yet it was so magical. It’s been one of my favorite songs during the holiday.”

During the holiday season, Williams is also currently starring in The Christmas Lottery by BET, co-starring with Reginald VelJohnson, Asia’h Epperson, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Lorenzo “Renny” Cromwell, Terayle Hill, Kay-Megan Washington, Phylicia Morgan. Cameos from Traci Braxton, Allison Seymour and Rob Gordon are also seen in the film.

The Christmas Lottery will re-air Monday, Dec. 21 at 7:00pm (est) on BET on Demand, and Friday, Dec. 25th at 9:00pm (est) on BETher. Buy and download Williams’ version of “Santa Baby” here, and watch the video below.
