It was just announced that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are reportedly expecting their first child. The Kensington Palace announced in a statement on Monday (Oct. 15).
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the statement reads.
Prince Harry has previously spoken briefly about the couple’s wish to have a child soon. “Hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future,” he told BBC News in Nov. 2017, after their engagement. The couple married on May 19th, 2018.
The Kensington Palace also stated that, “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
The couple’s future child will be seventh in line to the British throne.
