With more than two decades in the game, and 25 years exactly since his song “For You” went number one on the R&B charts, Kenny Lattimore earned another number one song with “Take A Dose.”
Earning another number-one record is a great musical achievement, but it’s not the only thing Lattimore is celebrating.
“It’s been an incredible start to the year. My wife, Faith, and I just welcomed a baby girl two weeks ago and now I have another #1 song,” Lattimore said.
“Take A Dose” is from Lattimore’s latest album, “Here To Stay,” and follows previous singles “Lose You” and “Pressure.”
“I remember when ‘For You’ was no. 1 for ten consecutive weeks and how validating that felt,” Lattimore said. “Now, after a career spanning 25 plus years to be back at no. 1, I’m truly grateful. My album title really spoke truth to power – I’m here to stay,” said Lattimore. “I want to thank all the radio stations, streaming media, and fans who have supported me on this journey.”
This is also the first time Lattimore has had two songs simultaneously on the various charts, with the second one being, “Why Oh Why” with Artists for Global Unity, already charting in the Top ’30s.
