Keith D. Robinson joins cast of CBS soap opera ‘Beyond the Gates’ as Dr. Ted Richardson

Renowned actor and recording artist Keith D. Robinson will be making waves in daytime television after officially joining the cast of the #1 rated CBS soap opera, Beyond The Gates. Beginning May 15, Robinson steps into the role of Dr. Ted Richardson, a skilled plastic surgeon whose arrival is sure to stir up fresh drama inside and outside the gates.

Produced by CBS Studios, Beyond The Gates is set in an elite, predominantly African American gated community nestled just outside Washington, D.C., in one of the country’s most affluent Black counties.

“I am extremely blessed and honored to be a part of such a historical show for the culture alongside some of the most talented artists in the world,” said Robinson. “I relish in the opportunity and look forward to contributing to some already amazing television. Big Shout-Out to Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, CBS and the entire production team, cast, and crew.”

The series centers on the Duprees — a powerful, multi-generational family synonymous with Black excellence and influence. Behind the opulence and manicured gardens, however, are deeply guarded secrets and rivalries threatening to unravel the pristine facade.

Outside of daytime TV,  Robinson continues to solidify his position as a versatile entertainer. In June, he will release the first single from his forthcoming album, Love Episodic 2, followed by a promotional tour hitting major cities including Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, and Baltimore.

A seasoned performer, Robinson’s resume includes standout roles in beloved films like Dreamgirls, This Christmas, Four Seasons, Fat Albert, CRU, and The Life Story of Mahalia Jackson. He also starred in Saints and Sinners for six seasons — now streaming on Hulu.
