Hip-Hop legend Flavor Flav visited “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on Thursday and shared thoughts and moments from his time in Paris, France for the 2024 Olympics.
Flavor Flav sponsored the U.S. women’s water polo team at the 2024 Olympics. He shared with Jennifer Hudson, his passion for supporting women athletes.
“A lot of Olympians be out there bustin’ their butts to make the United States look good,” Flavor Flav said. “I feel the government should be sponsoring these teams and they’re not.
He said when the captain, Maggie Steffens, shared the women’s polo team’s story, he wanted to be their hypeman and support them as much as he could.
“I said let me step in. Give them some sponsorship. Give them some help,” Flavor Flav said.
He added that he’s the only one doing such a thing and hopes that other celebrities will sponsor Olympic teams.
Flavor Flav also spoke on Jordan Chiles’ bronze medal being taken away and the 2024 VMAs when he gifted Chiles a bronze clock to symbolize her medal.
“Jordan Chiles, she did a fantastic job this year, going out there,” he said. “She rightfully deserved that medal… not only that, but she did a great performance… To go out there and achieve something and have it ripped away from you, it’s really a devasting feeling.”
Flavor Flav said he knows the clock doesn’t replace a medal, but the gesture was from his heart.
During the televised VMAs award show, Flavor Flav shared a personal message of support for Chiles and gifted her the clock in front of everyone.
