Chante Moore & Syleena Johnson Play Devil’s Advocate Speaking on R. Kelly: “Y’all Not Gonna Mute The Music”

R&B singer Chante Moore sat down with the hosts of TV One’s new talk show, “Sister Circle Live,” where she talked about new music and R. Kelly. “Sister Circle Live” is hosted by Quad Webb-Lunceford, Syleena Johnson, longtime entertainment host and actress Rashan Ali, and stand-up comedian Kiana Dancie. Moore came on the show, and shared her thoughts on the Kelly allegations, along with Johnson. Both of which have personal and musical relationships with Kelly.

“Robert has had a way of coming through these things hit record, by hit record, by hit record. We get mad, we get upset, we want to mute the music; y’all ain’t muting the music. Y’all not gonna mute the music,” Moore says while discussing Kelly. Moore goes on to say, “there’s a judgement that happens, but we’re just judgemental people at times. Especially with all the media, and all the industry is quick to attack, but if these young ladies are over 21, they are responsible for what they are doing.”

Johnson, after stating that if the allegations are true, that she does not promote any aspect of it, shares a story of what happened at a Kelly concert in the past. She shared a story about a mother and daughter both wearing a full net, see-through outfit to go backstage. Sharing the story to promote that women need to do better, and states that women do not need to promote themselves sexually to gain attention.

Kelly recently had two more alleged victims come forward, continuing the allegations. Following everything, Spotify has stopped promoting Kelly’s music on their playlists.

You can watch the full interview below, and watch “Sister Circle Live” weekdays, at 12pm on TV One. Check your local listings.
